DREAM COMES TRUE FOR SPECIAL STUDENT AS SECOND JAPAN WISHFLIGHT TAKES OFF FOR FLORIDA
American Airlines and Make-A-Wish Japan Hold Send-Off Reception at Narita Admirals Club
TOKYO-American Airlines, together with Make-A-Wish Japan, the local office of Make-A-Wish Foundation® International the largest wish-granting organization in the world today bid a hearty "Bon voyage!" to a local college student who is heading to Florida on the secondever
Japan WishFlight. The student, a young man from Kanagawa Prefecture who has asked to remain anonymous, has nurtured a long-standing dream of going to NASA's Space Center to witness a space shuttle launch.
This Japan WishFlight is bound for Orlando, Florida, via Dallas/Fort Worth. The Wish Child and his party plan to attend the space shuttle launch at NASA Kennedy Space Center on February 7.
The send-off reception took place at the Narita Admirals Club, located in Terminal 2 at Narita International Airport, and included Wesley Stockstill, Director of Marketing and Strategy for American Airlines in the Pacific, who presented the Wish Child with a model American Airlines
aircraft as a commemorative gift.
Tomoko Suzuki, representative of Make-A-Wish Japan, said at the reception, "On the very
special occasion of this second Japan WishFlight, Make-A-Wish offers its sincere hope that today's
Wish Child can go on to make his dreams come true."
Robert T. Hayashi, Online & Brand Marketing Manager, American Airlines Japan, said,
"We at American Airlines are grateful to have the opportunity to support children from Japan whose
dreams can be made reality through the WishFlight. This is the second WishFlight to depart Japan
since 2008, and we look forward to continuing our support for this uniquely wonderful endeavor.
Our hope is to spread the word to children throughout Japan this opportunity is available to them."
Upon the party's arrival at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and again at Orlando
Airport, the Wish Child and his party will be welcomed by volunteers from the Something mAAgic
Foundation®, a non-profit organization made up of current and former American Airlines
employees that supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation in its commitment to creating magical
memories for children with chronic and life-threatening medical conditions.
